General Information
Why do I need coverage for my wireless phone?
The statistics may surprise you! The Signal® estimates 25 million wireless phones will be lost or stolen this year in the United States, and millions more will be damaged. If your phone is one of them and you don’t have this coverage, you could pay much more than your original investment to have it repaired or replaced.
What is covered under the Handset Protection Program?
The Handset Protection Program provides protection against direct physical damage, accidental water or liquid damage, theft, lost or misplaced phones, and mechanical or electrical failure once the manufacturer's warranty expires. See terms and conditions for full details of coverage under the Handset Protection Program.
How do I enroll in the Handset Protection Program?
You can enroll in the program when you purchase and activate a new phone on the Cricket® network.
How much does the Handset Protection Program cost per month?
The Handset Protection Program costs $4.95 per month and is conveniently billed to your account.
What if I have more than one phone?
If each qualified phone is active on different wireless phone numbers, each phone must be individually enrolled in the Handset Protection Program.  Each phone will be billed $4.95 to your account monthly.  Each time you purchase a new phone, you must contact Cricket® and register the new phone in the program.
What is the deductible if a claim is filed and approved?
$35.00 deductible on economy phones
$50.00 deductible on standard phones
$85.00 maximum deductible on premium phones
Which phones are standard versus premium?
Please call 1-800-CRICKET or visit your local Cricket® store to confirm if your phone is considered standard or premium.
What if I have additional questions?

Claims Process:
What should I do before I file my claim for lost or stolen phones?
Please call 1-800-CRICKET to suspend your wireless service to prevent any unauthorized use of your phone if the phone has been lost or stolen.
How do I file a claim under the Handset Protection Program?
To file a claim, please call 1-866-217-5787.   Please be prepared to provide the following to complete your claim:
Your wireless phone number.
The make and model of your phone.
The electronic serial number (ESN) of the phone you are claiming.
What happened to your phone (date, time and location of the incident)?
Note: A Proof of Loss form may be required to complete your claim.
How many claims can I file?
You are eligible for 2 phone replacements in a 12 consecutive month period.
How can I determine the manufacturer and model of my equipment?
The make and model of your wireless phone can be located on the box the phone came in or your original sales receipt. Cricket® may also have the make and model on file so you can call them to get this information.
What if I do not have my ESN for my phone?
This information is found under the battery on the back of the phone. The ESN is 11 digits long. If your phone has been lost or stolen, you can find the ESN on the box that your phone came in or on file with Cricket®.
What is the importance of providing an email address for status updates?
Providing us with your email address allows us to provide you with important information on the status of your claim, such as when it has been approved, when it is available for pick-up, when your handset was shipped, or a tracking number to help you locate the package should it be delayed in shipping.

Replacement Handset:
Will the replacement equipment be exactly the same as the original?
We will make every effort to find the exact model—either new or reconditioned—of your original handset.  If one isn’t available, we will replace your handset with a model of similar like, kind and quality.
